Origin
Coined by Conscient Group from Nikola Tesla's telautomaton: tele-, at a distance, and automaton, self-acting. Tesla demonstrated the first one, a vessel steered by radio, at Madison Square Garden in 1898 (US patent 613,809). A Telauton is the idea turned inward: not a vessel acted on from a distance, but a place known from a distance, well enough to act.
Usage
A Telauton is always of somewhere. It takes a place, never a subject: a Telauton of Delaware Bay, never a Telauton of a vessel or a person. Every claim a Telauton makes is stamped with how current that claim is. A Telauton can be of any licensed place in the world. It is not a county product; SussexCounty.ai is Conscient Group's civic product for one county, and a Telauton of a Sussex County site is a separate thing.

Not to be confused with
a map or a satellite view. A map tells you what was surveyed. A Telauton tells you what is there now, and how sure it is. Nor with SussexCounty.ai, which covers one county's public record; a Telauton covers one place, anywhere, in every layer.
