Stratokon

One business, one identity, every public record that names it.

Stratokon is Conscient Group's name for the layer that decides which company a record refers to. It resolves every way one business appears in public records into a single identity that holds while the records change.

Origin

Coined by Conscient Group from strato-, the stratosphere, the layer above weather, and -kon, from the Greek eikōn, an image. The view from above the weather, where one business resolves to a single shape.

Usage

Stratokon is used as a proper noun for the Conscient product, and as a common noun for the layer itself. It is never used for a directory or a listing.
